PAPOUTSANIS

Our history begun in 1870 on the Greek Island of Lesvos.

The first steam engine powered, olive oil pressing factory, was founded there by Dimitris Papoutsanis. His passion for soap production and his profound knowledge of sea commerce, helped him create a successful business of olive oil soap.

In 1913 the production facilities were transferred to Piraeus and in 1965 the plant was transferred to the Northern suburbs of Athens.

Since 1972 the company is listed on the Athens Exchange (ATHEX).
February 2001, the new factory operates in Ritsona of Evia initiating a new era of modernization and creativity.
